Walk for the Centre is a two or four kilometre walkathon in support of the Centretown Community Food Centre. It is an initiative of the Centretown Churches Social Action Committee, and is now in its 11th year. Registration opens at 1:30 p.m.

The walk begins and ends at the Canadian Martyrs Church, 100 Main Street. There will be music, prizes and a silent auction. The Sons of Scotland Pipe Band leads the walk, which gets underway at 2:30.

”On October 4, we will welcome members of the community, friends, families and teams at Canadian Martyrs Church on Main Street for a walk along the beautiful Rideau Canal.  Plan to join us, rain or shine!

“We will  be walking together to highlight the need for food security for so may in central Ottawa.

“As always, all net proceeds go to the Centretown Community Food Centre.  Last year, we were able to provide over $50,000 in additional funds to the Food Centre thanks to our generous donors, walkers and business sponsors.”
